Well done to the Kindlestown Green Communities Action Group on a great clean up. I’m delighted to support this group in their efforts to clean Kindlestown Park Woods. It was been a great success with many people turning out to help. We have collected two buckets of broken glass and over twenty large bin bags which will be collected by council staff. I have been a long time advocate of community involvement in tackling areas such as this one and I’m delighted to see such a strong community effort being made.
It is well known that the anti social behaviour in Kindlestown Park Woods has been largely caused by people from outside the area and I believe it’s important to commend the residents of Kindlestown Park, Kenmare Heights and Bellevue Heights who have had to endure this.
I will be seeking more Garda patrols in the area to tackle anti social behaviour and raising the need for increased community policing with members of An Garda Síochána at the upcoming April meeting of the Joint Policing Committee.
I will also be continuing to push for continuous interaction between the council, local residents, and community groups to address the long term condition of Kindlestown Park Woods.
